ANTARCTICA

Late in 2004, the German research ship "Polarstern" set sail for the Antarctic to carry out a unique experiment on behalf of the Alfred Wegener Institute. The ship docked beside a gigantic floe of pack ice which would serve during several weeks as an outdoor laboratory for scientists from many nations. Photographer INGO ARNDT accompanied the expedition. Ingo now has created an exhibition based on this very special logbook.
His extraordinary photos capture the frigid magic of the polar landscape, the diversity of icebergs, the incredible atmospheric colours, and the amazing fauna of the Antarctic Ocean . A brilliantly photographed report with informative text by journalist Claus Peter Lieckfeld covering scientific facts and an adventurous journey.
Ingo Arndt is one of Germany's most renowned nature photographers. His pictures have been published in GEO, National Geographic, natur & kosmos, etc. His photographic work has earned him numerous awards.
